Introduction to Creative Coding for the Arts using Processing
16th november 2019, 10:00-16:00
$50.00 per participant
Designed as a first introduction to computer programming, this workshop will introduce programming concepts in the context of the visual and performing arts. Participants will learn how to use the Processing IDE to write apps that run on their computer.
Artists wishing to make simple interactive software for installations or theatre will benefit from this workshop.
Processing is open source software, meaning it’s free! There’s a great online community around learning and skills sharing. It’s an excellent place to begin your programming learning. See some great examples of projects here: https://processing.org/exhibition/
Participants will need their own laptop (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and it’s helpful to download and install the Processing software from https://processing.org/download/ before the class.
Introduction to Creative Coding and Electronics using Arduino
23rd november 2019, 10:00-16:00
$70.00 per participant
Designed as a first introduction to computer programming, this workshop will introduce programming and electronics concepts. Participants will learn how to use the Arduino IDE to write software and then flash (upload) their software to their own Arduino (supplied).
We’ll also cover basics of electronics prototyping using jumper wires and breadboards. Included in the workshop fee is an Arduino start kit to take home. Artists wishing to make interactive systems for installations or theatre will benefit from this workshop.
Arduino is open source software, meaning it’s free! (free as in speech, also free as in beer). There’s a great online community around learning and skills sharing.
