The Social Licence Watchdogs have today attempted delivery of invoices to BHP, Chevron, Glencore, Inpex and Woodside for their social cost of carbon emissions between 2016 to 2023.The oversized invoices, collectively totalling AUD $1,414,654,614,450.00, reflect each company’s actual damage to the environment projected over the next 70+ years as a result of their scope 1, 2 & 3 carbon dioxide emissions since 2016.

In the event of non-payment, the Watchdogs will conduct a ceremonial shredding of each company’s ‘social licence to operate’ and transfer them to a custom made urn. Details of each invoice will follow.
