kiss club returns for 2022 with a bespoke edition for propel’s kickstart festival

presented by pvi collective, propel youth arts wa, and midland junction arts centre, the ever popular kiss club returns for 2022 with a bespoke edition for propel’s kickstart festival for youth week wa.

kiss club is a performance event for ideas in development, this year featuring only emerging wa artists across live and experimental arts practice. created by sydney based artist karen therese, kiss club has been presented by pvi collective since 2010. the kiss club event hosted at midland arts junction asks artists to present 10 minutes of a work in progress to an audience, providing a chance to trial a new idea and receive immediate feedback, with the audience gaining access to a dynamic arts experience.

kiss club celebrates work in progress, giving audiences a fresh insight into what is bubbling in the hearts and minds of perth’s experimental performance makers, and the opportunity to help shape and support new work. a hit with audiences, this fast and furious performance night has sold out over the past 5 years.

please note:

propel have recently announced a change in their 2022 kickstart festival due to the wa omicron outbreak, deciding to pivot towards digital and hybrid formats for the delivery of the youth week wa kickstart festival this april. decisions around exactly what this means for a public outcome for kiss club will be made nearer the time.
