we strive to provide a warm, welcoming and creative environment and will look to tailor support in relation to the successful applicant’s needs.
about the residency: this residency would ideally suit research and development of a project or body of work. a dedicated desk in the pvi studio is provided in a supportive environment, within a hive of creative activity.
it would suit an artist at a liminal point in their career – emerging, mid-career or established, looking for time and space for inspiration. it would suit someone with a desk-based aspect to their practice.
this is an offer of a creative place to work for three months, with some mentorship time with pvi collective.
about the studio space: the residency includes access to free wifi, amenities such as printer, desk and drawers, shared kitchen and toilets. it is close to public transport.
pvi hopes to foster a collegial working environment and encourages debate and exchange with residents throughout the residency. additional provocateur support with a pvi collective artist is also available, please ask us about applicable fees.
residency support: the successful applicant will receive a letter of support if needed to apply for any funding to undertake the residency. no fees, accommodation or travel support are available.
residency location: 116 angove st, north perth is pvi collective’s studio and co-lab space. the building houses the studio and offices for the company as well the co-lab shared working space residency for artists and other creative industries.
who are we looking for? pvi is hoping to support and nurture creatively fearless makers or producers who are working in the following areas of practice:
- the audience experience: participatory performance and immersive theatre
- creative geekery: coding, games design and theory
- genre busting artforms: interdisciplinary and live art practice
- pervasive gaming: the use of mobile media
- social engagement: creative intervention / space activation / site specific work
we are keen to support artists who are actively exploring similar fields of research and practice to enable opportunities to skill-share allowing for us all to deepen our engagement with the kind of work that keeps the fire in our bellies alight.
applications are open to local, interstate or international artists. pvi can provide successful applicants with a letter of support for any additional funding required.
